"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then is not an act, but a habit." - Aristotle
For anyone who has ever met me you'll know how firmly I believe in this quote. If you want to be great, you have to want to put in the time to be the best shooter, draw taker, best 1v1 defender, or best goaltender you can be. It takes hours of practice to train both your mind and your body to successfully hit that mid low shot or contain your opponent for a 5-second set, or make that last minute save, and to do it EVERY time. We know and believe in this mentality so we have gathered the tools to show you how become your best player on the field, and lay the blueprint for getting it done!
Having spent the last 20 years on the camp & clinic circuit, I have seen an unfortunate growing trend where players are solely seen as a "number" when it comes to camps. Whether for recruiting purposes or in terms of maximizing profits, the individual player and her development often gets lost in the shuffle. That didn’t sit well with me and I decided it was time for a change, and Around the Crease Lacrosse Camps & Clinics was born.
ATC Lacrosse's primary focus is to take each individual player and make her better. Our coaches demonstrate detail-oriented teaching of stickwork, footwork, shooting, and communication in order to raise each player's level of play and personal confidence. We maximize touches on the ball and reps in drills by limiting our camp numbers. With truly low player/coach ratios, coaches who are passionate teachers of the game and an emphasis on individual stick skills, small-sided game concepts and improving a player's ability to read the game, we have found a winning system.
At Around the Crease Lacrosse, we look at you as a future Division I, II, or III college athlete. Not every player will go on to compete at the highest levels of national and international competition, but we strive to get you ready if you do!
We want you to feel that you are walking away a better individual lacrosse player and better teammate to your high school, club or potential college team.
